Salvia - Marcus

It is hardy for container gardening, as a border plant and provides excellent cut flowers. ‘Marcus’ has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”. Blooms look wonderful next to Sedum ‘Matrona’, Achillea 'Coronation Gold' and Saliva ‘Snow Hill’. (PPAF). ‘Marcus’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. With its compact, dense habit of growing, it is easy to accommodate in any perennial garden. Salvia ‘Marcus’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. The Salvia ‘Marcus’, Salvia nemorosa, is a new dwarf version of the Salvia ‘May Night’. Spikes of intense violet-blue flowers bloom on top gray-green foliage and flower from June to October. The Sunflower First Light, 'Helianthus salicifolius ‘First Light’, a Blooms of Bressingham plant, displays a solid mass of 2” daisy light yellow flowers. Try Helianthus as cut flowers, in the back of beds or borders, with Ornamental Grasses or Asters. Helianthus should be planted in full sun with average to well-drained soils. It will grow best with moisture, but can tolerate drought.
