Salvia Marcus To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. Salvia ‘Marcus’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. It is hardy for container gardening, as a border plant and provides excellent cut flowers. The Salvia ‘Marcus’, Salvia nemorosa, is a new dwarf version of the Salvia ‘May Night’. Spikes of intense violet-blue flowers bloom on top gray-green foliage and flower from June to October. (PPAF). ‘Marcus’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. With its compact, dense habit of growing, it is easy to accommodate in any perennial garden.
Coral Bells Obsidian Like most Coral Bells, it thrives in partial sunlight but once established it will also grow in shade. Taller shoots of cream colored flowers appear on this evergreen variety in June. Plant the Obsidian with Coral Bells Lime Ricky, Marmalade or Peach Flambe for a fantastic color contrast. Use this coral bell as a ground cover, in rock gardens, as a border plant or as an edger along paths and walkways. Coral Bells are grown more for their foliage color but the small blooms that they contain will attract hummingbirds.
Coreopsis Autumn Blush It tolerates the heat and humidity extremely well and flowers best in a sunny location. The Coreopsis Autumn Blush, Coreopsis 'Autumn Blush' (PPAF) is a wonderful new variety to the Coreopsis family. Coreopsis Autumn Blush looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. The fern like leaves make a great contrast with the daisy shaped flowers. It should be cut back in late summer to extend the bloom period.
Daylily Rosy Returns Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions.
