Morning Glory - Grandpa Otts

The flowers open in the morning and close in the evening. Water them frequently so they do not dry out. Morning glories seem to bloom earlier and with more blooms when they are constricted to a pot. The intense, 2 to 4 inch across violet blue flowers, have a vivid, incandescent ruby star on the petals. Grandpa Otts Morning Glory prefers full sun and average ,sandy, well drained soil. Grandpa Otts blooms from summer until first frost and will bloom more abundantly during cool weather. The Morning Glory Grandpa Otts, 'Tpomoea tricolor', is a Heirloom variety that is so stunning that it belongs in every old-fashioned garden. Plants started too early are less vigorous than those started later. This excellent vine will cover fences and trellises, grow as ground cover, or hang in large baskets or pots. Pansy - Antique Shades The Pansy Antique Shades, 'Viola wittrockiania', is a very beautiful pansy mix. Technically a perennial, grown as an annual, pansies will overwinter in climates as cold as zone 4. Antique Shades is an Early Giant type and has 3 inch flowers of mixed colors including baby yellow, peach, burgundy, rust, and cream. Pansies bloom best during cool weather, this means spring in cool climates and fall and winter in warm climates. Plant them in normal garden soils and fertilize lightly. In warm climates plant in late summer or early fall. The Pansy works well in locations where late fall and early spring color would be appropiate.
