Lily - Double Oriental - Miss Lucy

The Double Oriental Lily Miss Lucy, 'Lilium 'Miss Lucy' Oriental Lily', was the spring 2004 MGA Green Thumb award winner. A must for the gardener that wants the very best for their garden. Cut flowers also last longer in vases when there are no stamens, so an arrangement of 'Miss Lucy' lilies can often live up to twelve days in your home! 'Miss Lucy' lilies can be container-grown or planted directly in your garden. Each year the plant will flower more profusely. This lily produces double fragrant flowers. Their soft pink color harmonizes with every border combination. This truly spectacular discovery was the first double oriental lily! 'Miss Lucy' is a unique, multi- petaled lily that doesn't have any stamens; this is a great advantage for a cut flower! Stamens produce the pollen which can mar a table setting or accidentally stain an outfit. ... more

Geranium - Southcombe Double This plant would look wonderful in a pot on a sun-drenched porch and is also deer resistant. For the most part, cranesbill are long-lived and do not require a lot of care. They are perfect in the perennial border and work well as a ground cover too. There are only a few double-geraniums in cultivation and don't look like a Geranium at first glance. The Geranium Southcombe Double, 'Geranium oxonianum', displays fully double, pure pink blooms that sit atop bright green stems. They do best in sun, but will tolerate some degree of shade. Geraniums are grown in almost any soil as long as it is not wet. Southcombe Double blooms almost non-stop throughout the summer, into fall.
