Blueberry - Jersey

The Jersey Blueberry, Vaccinium 'Jersey', has a dark blue fruit that is small to medium in size and very sweet in flavor. It has an upright and open growth habit. It is suitable for mechanical harvesting. This blueberry grows best on sites where most other crops fail. Prune as needed in late winter beginning in the third year after planting. Jersey is one of the oldest, most widely grown varieties and is easy to grow in most soil types. It performs well on loose textured soils--mixtures of sand and peat are best.
